Welcome

Welcome to the Montana School Boards Association (MTSBA). We represent the interests of elected school boards governing K-12 public education throughout Montana and our membership encompasses virtually every school board in the state, from east to west, large to small and between. MTSBA has been a leader in public education advocacy since its inception in 1926. We provide training, advocacy, legal and policy services to Montana's public schools in pursuit of our core purpose of "maximizing the potential of every child through school board leadership"

New Policy Notes Have Arrived
Updated policies as a result of the 2013 legislative session are now available HERE.  There are two sets of policies.  One set shows the changes that have been made based on legislative action.  The other set is a “clean” set which can be used for adoption.  A couple of the policies have a “legal reference” as the Legislative Bill number.  This is due to the fact that an MCA code has not been assigned as of this time.  Once the code is assigned, MTSBA will get that information to the schools.  Also, within Policy 3123 (Truancy), each District will need to insert their definition of non-attendance without excuse and choose one of the 4 options for appointing an attendance officer.
