MTSBA's Title IX and Investigations Symposium

April 21, 2015
9:00-10:15  Title IX Overview: This session will provide an overview of the requirements under Title IX that are outside the scope of athletics. 
10:15-10:30 Mid-Morning Break 
10:30-11:45  School Investigations: The focus of this session will be on the do's and don'ts of conducting school investigations, who can conduct school investigations, Title IX requirements, etc. 
11:45-1:00  Lunch on your own 
1:00-2:15  Title IX and its Application to Athletics: Joann Austin from MHSA will be presenting on Title IX requirements and its application and impact on your school athletic programs. Joann will include a discussion on the do's and don'ts of fundraising. 
2:15-2:30  Mid-Afternoon Break 
2:30 - 3:30  OCR Guidance on Transgender Students: The focus of this session will be a discussion on the guidance from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) on transgender students. 
3:30-4:00  Q & A

MTSBA’s Cancellation, No Show and Onsite Registration Policy:
If you register and later cancel, either in writing or via email with receipt of such email confirmed in a reply from Carol Will (cwill@mtsba.org) of MTSBA, on or before 5 business days (Saturdays and Sundays excluded) before the workshop:

  • your registration fee will be refunded less a $25 administrative fee if you prepaid; or
  • you will be charged a $25 administrative fee and your District will be charged accordingly.

•A cancellation notice received after the above referenced deadline and/or any no show is not eligible for a refund or will be charged the full membership fee, regardless of the underlying reason.  
•Onsite registrations will be charged an additional $25 above and beyond the member registration fee.
•No shows will be charged $25 for a member benefit event.
