Join MTSBA and MHSA staff as we look at the emerging issues related to school athletics and activities. During this one-day seminar, we'll cover the following topics:
8:30 - 9:00 am | Registration
9:00 - 10:30 am | Working with Booster Organizations – The focus of this session will be a review of the new MTSBA model policy covering booster and support organizations and how the policy can ensure the organizations operate in an appropriate manner.
10:00 - 11:00 am | Responsible Fundraising and Donation Management – The focus of this session will be on how districts and district sponsored programs can raise and deposit funds in a manner consistent with state and federal law.
11:00 - Noon | Coach Evaluations and Contracts - The focus of this session will be on the best practices for making coaching and other extra-duty decisions to ensure the rights of individuals and the interests of the district are protected.
Noon-1:15 pm | Lunch on your own
1:15 - 2:15 pm | Student Supervision and Safety – The focus of this session will be on how districts can ensure employees and volunteers develop and implement supervision protocols that ensure activity participants are safe during school events.
2:15 - 3:15 PM | MHSA Rules Update – Jo Austin, MHSA Associate Director

Cancellation, No Show and Onsite Registration Policy:
If you register and later cancel, either in writing or via email with receipt of such email confirmed in a reply ksmerker@mtsba.org, on or before five business days (Saturdays and Sundays excluded) before the workshop:
- Your registration fee will be refunded less a $25 administrative fee if you prepaid; or
- You will be charged a $25 administrative fee and your district will be charged accordingly.
- A cancellation notice received after the above-referenced deadline and/or any no-show is not eligible for a refund or will be charged the full membership fee, regardless of the underlying reason.
- Onsite registrations will be charged an additional $25 above and beyond the member registration fee.
- No shows will be charged $25 for a member benefit event.
